Tournament rules
TOURNAMENT RULES October 18 - 19 USSSA Tournament
All teams must be registered with USSSA and have their rosters online in the USSSA computer before the start of the tournament. Each team will need to present the tournament director with a roster. If you cannot present your roster you will not be allowed to play in this tournament. If you have not gotten your team roster online, go to www.texasusssa.org and click on Team Manager and follow those instructions to get your team log in ID and password for your team home page. You can print off a copy of the rules by going to www.usssabaseball.org and click on 2008 Rules. Managers: Be ready to play 15 minutes before your start time. If the game in front of you is a run rule we will start the next game early. The following criteria will be used to seed teams after round robin play: 1) Won/Loss record, 2) *Head to head, 3) Fewest runs allowed, 4) Run Differential, 5) Coin Flip *When 3 or more teams are tied, only fewest runs allowed and highest run differential shall be used to determine seeding. Games will be six innings in length with a 1 hour 40 minute time limit for age 11 & 12, and seven innings in length with a 1 hour 45 minute time limit for 13 and 14. Run rules are: (20 after 1), (12 after 3), (10 after 4), (8 after 5). CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WILL BE 2:00 TIME LIMIT Pitching limits for age 11 & 12 are a maximum of eight (8) innings (24 outs) for any individual pitcher for the entire tournament, a maximum of six (6) innings (18 outs) in one day. Pitching limits for age 13 and 14 are a maximum of nine (9) innings (27 outs) for any individual pitcher for the entire tournament, a maximum of seven (7) innings (21 outs) in one day. Managers must submit pitching records to the tournament director after your game. If the manager does not submit his pitching records within 30 minutes after the completion of the game, whatever is listed in the official score book will be used. Home team will keep the official scorebook. The visiting team will run the scoreboard. An EH is allowed. The DH is not allowed. Teams may bat 9, 10(EH), or the roster. A team may continue a game with one less player than it started with, whenever a player leaves the game for any reason. When the player who has left the game is scheduled to bat, an out shall be declared for each turn at bat. At any time, the team at bat may use a courtesy runner for the current pitcher and catcher. The courtesy runner must be someone not presently in the batting lineup. If teams have no subs, they may use the last batted out. If a coach is ejected from a game, they must sit out the remainder of that game and at least the following game. A player ejected must sit out the remainder of that game.
